Mardi Gras at Pet Paradise

Location: Pet Paradise Resort Hobby, 7511 Monroe Rd, Houston, TX 77061

Date: 02/06/10

Time: 1 pm – 3 pm

Description: Bring your pet and enjoy doggy biscuit decorating, a Mardi Gras pet photo session and tours! A “king and queen” will be crowned so be sure your pet is in their Mardi Gras/Carnaval best dress! We will also have beverages and cookies, so make sure to bring a friend!

Open Forum Meeting

Location: Saint Danes Bar & Grille, 502 Elgin St, Houston, TX 77006

Time: 1:30

Description: This will be a great time to meet the Board Members of GDRST, get information on the rescue group, learn what we did last year, what we look forward to doing this year, and more. We would like more people to become involved with the rescue. GDRST is looking to expand our role in the community but we can’t do that unless we recruit more dedicated volunteers. We are specifically looking for strong can-do volunteers. So bring your ideas, thoughts, your appetite (St. Danes has really good food!!), and your dogs!

Fort Bend Dog Show

Location: 4310 Hwy 36 South, Rosenberg TX 77471

Date: 01/23/10 – 01/24/10

Time: 9:00 am – 5 pm Saturday; 10:00 am – 5 pm Sunday

Description: This is an AKC All-Breed Conformation show.  GDRST will have a booth there, so stop by and meet some of our Danes that are currently in the program.  This is an event that the whole family can enjoy.

Animal Rescue Site is having another $100,000 Challenge.  They will be awarding eighty five grants totaling $100,000 to rescue organizations and shelters.  You can help GDRST in obtaining one of these grants by voting for us daily from now until April 18, 2010.  The organizations with the most votes will be awarded grants.  Help GDRST so that we can help more Great Danes in need.
