Sergeant Heath Stoute of the National Guard 256th Infantry Brigade Combat team gets a warm welcome from his Great Dane, Zeus, upon returning to the National Guard Armory Sunday night for a 3-day leave period before returning Thursday to Camp Shelby and then on to Iraq.

I love this picture! We often think about how much the families are missing their loved ones when they’re off at war, but they sometimes forget that the pets are part of the family too. I’m sure Zeus was so happy to see his “dad.”
