Cataracts

Cataracts

What exactly are cataracts?  It is when the lens of the dog’s eye becomes cloudy causing it to be difficult for the dog to see out of.  Most often this is associated with older dogs, however, there are several ways that a dog can develop them.

  • Diabetes
  • Eye injury
  • Inherited
  • Poor nutrition
  • Old age

A veterinarian can perform an eye exam and let you know what steps can be taken to help your pet should you suspect it has cataracts.  For more information, please visit the following links.
