13th Annual Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Mardi Gras Parade
Location: 26th & Seawall, Galveston TX 77554
Date: March 6, 2011
Time: 11 am – 2 pm
Description: The parade will begin at 1pm. Check-in and registration will begin at 11am at 26th and Seawall. All the proceeds go to the Galveston Humane Society.
Pet and their humans are encouraged to wear their Mardi Gras finest- or any fun outfits that make them feel good. A costume contest is planned prior to the start of the parade beginning 12 noon. The winners will be announced and ribbons awarded at the end of the parade in the academy parking lot. Remember, proof of rabies vaccination must be provided for all pets and tags worn on collars. All pets must be on a lead, no longer then 6ft. The parade will begin at 27th and seawall and travel west to 46th street into the academy parking lot.
A good idea is to park about 1/2 way in the middle and walk to the registration. The walk is probably about 2 miles.
Registration: $20 pre-registration, $30 at the parade.
* GDRST will not have a booth at this event, however, several members & volunteers will be on hand to participate and show our support.
