Wobbler Disease

Cervical Spondylomyelopathy (CSM) (Wobblers)

Wobblers is a neurological problem affecting the spinal cord in the neck.  It is a common cause of neurologic disabilities in large breed dogs.  Wobblers is caused by narrowing of the vertebral canal.

Dogs with Wobblers usually have a “wobbly” gait in their back legs.  They may walk with their head lowered, which is a sign of pain or discomfort.  Great Danes are one of the most commonly affected breeds.
