Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas is in need of foster homes. Our rescue does not have a kennel where the Danes are kept, instead we rely on people in the community who are generous enough to open up their homes to a Dane in need and “foster” them. There are a couple of different reasons for this: One being, it is easier to learn a dog’s behavior and character when they are interacted with all the time. The Danes also seem to thrive in the home environment versus a kennel which also makes their transition to a “forever” home easier. If you think that you have room in your heart and your home to foster a Dane, visit our Foster page.
GDRST is also in need of volunteers. Our organization is comprised solely of volunteers donating their time and energy in the efforts of educating the community about the Great Dane breed. We also participate in local events to raise funds for the care and treatment of the rescued dogs brought into our program. Currently, we have five upcoming events that we will be participating in around the Greater Houston area. If you have a desire to be active in our cause, we would love to have you on our team.
