Featured Dane – Nick
Nick’s Story
This sweet boy got his name because he was pulled from the shelter just in the “nick” of time! He has had to be strong and fight for himself, and was found wandering the streets for weeks.
Nick is now resting in foster care and receiving much needed TLC and medical care . He is Heart Worm positive and will under go treatment once he has put on about 40 to 50 pounds.
A mass has been discovered in Nick’s abdomen and he will need surgery to have it removed. However, in Nick’s current physical condition, it is too risky to perform surgery on him. Once he has gained some weight and strength we will be able to have this procedure done.
Since being in his foster home he has become a shadow to his foster mom and gets along nicely with her cats. Because of how frail he is he has not been exposed to the other dogs. We are also happy to report that he has gained 10 pounds so far. It is amazing what a little love and attention does to lift one’s spirits.
If you think Nick would be a good fit for your family, please complete an Adoption Application to get the process started.
